Q. I get the error that ODBC is not installed

A. If you need to connect to use Access to connect to your MySQL databases using ODBC (Open Database Connectivity), follow these instructions:

1: Download the mysql odbc driver and install it on your local windows machine that has Access.

2: Set up the access hosts entry under the Manage MySQL section of your CPanel so that your remote machine's hostname or IP address (wildcards permitted) is listed.

Now you can use Access to connect to your MySQL databases. Be sure to use the database and database user you created for the login info, your domain name for the server and the standard 3306 as the port.
